At least 12 months prior to
your wedding date
Announce
your engagement.
Set
the date and time for your wedding.
Develop
a budget and how expenses will be shared.
Decide
what type of wedding you want: Location, Indoor/Outdoor, Time of Day,
etc.
Consult
both sets of parents and compose a preliminary guest list.
Create
a file to store contracts, booking forms, important papers etc.
Select
a wedding coordinator (if applicable).
Select
and reserve the location you wish to have your ceremony.
Make
an appointment with your chosen Minister.
Select
and reserve your reception location.
Begin
the selection of a Professional Photographer / Videographer.
Begin
the selection of the Musicians / DJ for your reception.
Begin
the search for your Wedding Dress: Several fittings will be required.
Pick
and book your honeymoon destination: (renew passports & inoculations if
required)
Begin
the selection of caterer, if not provided by the reception venue.

the search and selection of Florist.
9 - 12 months prior to
your wedding date
Select
your Bridesmaids, Best Man, witnesses and other attendants.
Set
date to order dresses for Bridesmaids.
Decide
on colour scheme for wedding.

search for wedding rings.
6 - 9 months prior to
your wedding date
Finalise
your guest list.

delivery of Bridal Dress.

choose and order attire.
Compile
a wedding present list.
Arrange
transportation for all members of bridal party to and from ceremony &
reception.
Arrange
accommodation for any out of town guests.
Start
shopping for gifts for all attendants.
Purchase
wedding rings.
Reserve
any rental items required for the reception.
Select
and order any decorations required for the reception (i.e. balloons
etc).
Purchase
shoes and accessories.
4 - 6 months prior to
your wedding date

Plan
the reception.
Go
over the details of the reception with the caterer and hotel wedding
coordinator.
Plan
entertainment or activities for out-of-town guests if they arrive days
prior to wedding.
Purchase
mothers gowns.

6 - 8 weeks prior to
your wedding date
Mail
invitations. (Don't forget a directions map for out-of-town guests)
Maintain
record of RSVP's and all gifts received.
Send
thank you notes upon receipt of gifts.
Inform
clergyman of all details of your ceremony.
Determine
your hairstyle and makeup for your wedding day, and book appointments.
Start
writing speeches.
Plan
the seating arrangements for the reception.
Check
all services.
Final
wedding dress fitting.

2 - 4 weeks prior to
your wedding date
Arrange
to move belongings to your new home.

for name and address change as necessary.

your wedding date

Honeymoon packing.
Confirm
Honeymoon reservations and accommodation.
Wrap
Groom's and attendants' gifts.
Confirm
final guest count with caterer and reception venue.
Go
over the schedule of the ceremony and reception with all parties
involved.
Gather
everything needed for rehearsal and wedding day.
Day before
your wedding date
RELAX!
Have
manicure and pedicure done.
Give
Ushers the guest list.
Give
your wedding party any accessories they will need.
Give
the Best Man any fee balances that require paying on the day.
Designate
someone to return all rented/hired items after the day.
Go to
bed early.
The Wedding Day
Eat a
good Breakfast.
Attend
you Hair and Beauty appointments.
Have
wedding attire ready 2 hours early.
Make
sure Best Man has the rings.
Have
wedding party arrive prior to the wedding ceremony. (to allow for
pre-ceremony photo's)

Helpful Hint: Make an emergency kit
to include...
Make-up, safety pins, clear nail polish, comb, hair spray, tissues, needle &
thread (white), aspirins, band aid. Sounds funny, but stranger things have
